Oh. My. Lord. Anyone else watch Kris Allen perform on Idol last night and have to pick their jaw up off the floor? Oh, no, just me?

I have to say, though Kris is easy on the eyes, I never thought he was a strong contender – especially up against the heavy hitters like Danny Gokey and Matt Giraud (some would add Adam’s name in here too, but I’ll get to that soon…). But the boy is growing on me! For last night’s country performance, Kris chose Garth Brook’s hit “Make You Feel My Love.” I was already in LOVE with this song because Adele does an amazing rendition of it. Anyway, check it out here:

On another Idol note, what the hell is up with Adam Lambert? Everyone keeps telling me how awesome he is but I just do not see it! He shouts most of his songs, his face is so awkward to watch and the tight pants? Really? The only thing I’ll give him is his range is pretty amazing. Last night, he butched Johnny Cash’s classic “Ring of Fire.” You can check that out here, if you dare. WARNING: Your ears may bleed.

my new obsession!

So, have you guys heard of Rin on the Rox?  The YouTube sensation consisting of two friends, Erin and Roxanne, singing covers in their bathroom? Well, I heard these ladies on Ellen and had to find out what all the talk was about.

Wow! They are really really amazing. Check out a couple of their videos below. Just pure coincidence that they are both Beyonce songs because these girls do everything – from “I Kissed a Girl” to J Holiday.

Shout out to Kristin over at Camels & Chocolate, who’s also a big fan! You should get yourself acquainted with these ladies. I have a feeling we’ll be hearing more from them soon…

Spice Girl Mel C. just posted the cutest picture of her new bundle of joy, Scarlet, on her MySpace page. Check out the head of hair! I’m such a sucker for babies, but especially those with lots of locks…

Those Spice Girls sure know how to make cute babies! Too bad some of them can’t dress themselves…I kid, I kid.

Why?

Exhibit A:

Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham had the audacity to wear this horrendous outift to LAX on Thursday. Seriously? The hat and glasses are slowly eating away at her face, the jacket is undoubtedly inspired by Hitler and the purse looks like something off of a street vendor in NYC. Granted, Posh has always been ahead of the game when it comes to fashion, but this is just…yuck. Let’s all pray this military garb isn’t the trend for Fall ’09!

That poor cheetah! Paula Abdul attempted to rock out some animal print at the after party for the Top 13 on Idol last night. In all her excitement for the wild card show, she forgot to look in a mirror. Seriously, you need a stylist my love! Then again, I think we’re all used to Paula looking like a trainwreck these days.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Hey, it’s better than nothing! Ashlee Simpson-Wentz finally gave us a little peek at 3 month old Bronx when she stepped off a plane at Heathrow Airport in London yesterday. We haven’t seen him since he was born and daddy, Pete Wentz, posted a family photo on his website.

As much as we all love to get a glimpse at celebrity babies, you gotta give Ashlee and Pete credit for not parading around their kid and shopping him out for millions.

In other news, I’m sure you can imagine the hissy-fit I threw last night when I found out that Felicia Barton did NOT make it into the top 12 last night on Idol, or even into the Wild Card show at that. But, that crazy ass Tatiana did? Can we say RATINGS?

on my mind…

First up, the reviews are in for Britney’s debut show last night in New Orleans. For the most part people dug it. But, as I suspected, her biggest criticisms were that she didn’t sing live (shock, shock), she didn’t interact with the audience and some of her dance moves seemed a bit sloppy. I think there is still hope here – and I REALLY want her to do well – but I don’t think the show will live up to the hype. Maybe her heart isn’t in it anymore, and you can’t blame a girl for that…

Apparently, I’m a decade late releasing my autobiography. Miley Cyrus seems to think that she’s got lots to share about her (very short) 16 years of life thus far. I read an article today that said Miley writes about the mean girls that tormented her and her first love. Um, give me a break. I know high school is a bit mellow dramatic but this is all too much. Seems like just another way for Daddy Cyrus to milk the “cash cow.”

Move over Carrie Underwood, this blogger’s got a new Idol girl crush. Felicia Barton rocked it out last night and, so far, is one of my favs of the season. For a girl who wasn’t even supposed to be on the show – she was called back after the disqualification of Joanna Pacitti – she sure came back with a vengence. I’m also loving Scott MacIntyre, because how amazing is his voice AND his story? Such a sucker for a good story. Also swooning over Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta My final thought on this: Bubye Nathaniel. If I have to see him wave with his index finger ONE.MORE.TIME, I may throw something. Directly at the TV.

Check out Felicia’s performance here:

well this is promising…

Britney Spears’ camp just released 2 min. of footage from the rehearsals for the popstar’s Circus tour, which kicks off in New Orleans tonight.

And, I have to say, this makes us a bit hopeful for her comeback. Let’s be honest, that shiteous MTV documentary just made us feel more sorry for her. The robotic responses, the brief moments of honesty – it left us a bit worried. But, this show looks amazing. It’s totally Madonna meets Cirque du Soleil. Perez Hilton is headed to the kickoff show tonight and he’ll have the first review right after, so check out his site for that.

Now, if only she would sing live…

well, the kids will be gorgeous…

So, I’ve been pretty much ignoring all of the engagement rumors surrounding Patriot’s QB Tom Brady and the goddess that is Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen. But when US Weekly AND People Magazine (two of my fav. mags ever) start talking about it, I start to believe it.

According to USWeekly.com, Tom and Gisele tied the knot last night in a small, intimate ceremony in Santa Monica. Just before 6p.m., Gisele walked down the aisle in a Dolce & Gabbana strapless lace gown surrounded by immediate family and close friends. Tom’s 18 month old son, John Edward Thomas (with Bridget Moynahan), was apart of the festivities along with Gisele’s three dogs. This is the first marriage for both.

I’ve always kind of liked these two together. Especially since, as a Patriots fan and lover of all things beautiful, they are both VERY easy on the eyes and will no doubt make some gorgeous babies. Here’s to hoping a honeymoon and some R&R with the new wifey will get Tom in tip top shape for football season!

…but, hey, cut me some slack. I’ve been fighting off a cold for the past 3 days. Is it just me or is everyone sick? Anyway, without further ado, my Oscar Recap!

Best Dressed of the night:

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt looked stunning, as usual. Angelina was wore black, as usual. But, she really can do no wrong and, despite their red carpet snubbery, they make a great pair.

Meanwhile, Brad’s ex Jennifer Aniston looked gorgeous in this white and silver slinky dress. She definitely made a statement: she’s fine without Brad! Though, I do wish she did something a bit more with her hair. This is the Oscars after all! Extra Bonus: Aniston brought along beau John Mayer as her arm candy. I’m really starting to like the two of them together…

Speaking of loving the dress but not the hair, you know that Kate Winslet can do no wrong in my book. But, the hair was hideous. It made her look much older than she really is. And what happened to color, in general? Kate’s dress from the SAG Awards was amazing and I wish she’d chosen something vibrant like that. Enough with the blacks, whites and greys ladies! Regardless, Kate looked beautiful.

Finally! Some color! Natalie Portman may not have had an Oscar award-winning movie this year, but she definitely rocked the red carpet.

Penelope Cruz kept it classic, almost Audrey Hepburn-esque, with this beautiful gown. I loved her whole look. And more importantly, I loved her speech when she won Best Supporting Actress. One of my favorite moments 🙂

Funniest Moment of the night:

Ben Stiller, a la Joaquin Pheonix on Letterman, presenting with Natalie Portman. Absolutely hilarious! Maybe it will convince Joaquin that he needs to get his act together…

Most Touching Moment of the night:

Heath Ledger’s win for Best Supporting Actor and his family’s acceptance speech on behalf of the late actor.

Most Surprising Moment:

Hugh Jackman as host. I have to say, I’ve never been a huge fan of Hugh, mostly because I’m not into the whole Wolverine, action-flick type of movies. But, he knocked me on my ass with his singing, dancing and, most of all, his charm. I loved it!

So, what do you guys think of the show? The critics were saying they needed a miracle to gain back the viewership it lost last year. Was the show a success?

not wasting any time…

Aw, I suppose that’s not fair, especially since I really love these two together. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden announced this weekend that they are expecting baby #2, just a little over a year since they welcomed the cuteness that is Harlow Winter Kate. No word on when Nicole is due.

Becoming a mother has honestly been the best thing for Nicole which is something she’s even said herself in the media. I, for one, much prefer her as the low-key, healthy mama that she’s become.

Congrats to the happy couple!

P.S. Oscar recap coming soon, I promise!
