So, I’ve been pretty much ignoring all of the engagement rumors surrounding Patriot’s QB Tom Brady and the goddess that is Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen. But when US Weekly AND People Magazine (two of my fav. mags ever) start talking about it, I start to believe it.

According to USWeekly.com, Tom and Gisele tied the knot last night in a small, intimate ceremony in Santa Monica. Just before 6p.m., Gisele walked down the aisle in a Dolce & Gabbana strapless lace gown surrounded by immediate family and close friends. Tom’s 18 month old son, John Edward Thomas (with Bridget Moynahan), was apart of the festivities along with Gisele’s three dogs. This is the first marriage for both.

I’ve always kind of liked these two together. Especially since, as a Patriots fan and lover of all things beautiful, they are both VERY easy on the eyes and will no doubt make some gorgeous babies. Here’s to hoping a honeymoon and some R&R with the new wifey will get Tom in tip top shape for football season!

a day late and a dollar short…

…but, hey, cut me some slack. I’ve been fighting off a cold for the past 3 days. Is it just me or is everyone sick? Anyway, without further ado, my Oscar Recap!

Best Dressed of the night:

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt looked stunning, as usual. Angelina was wore black, as usual. But, she really can do no wrong and, despite their red carpet snubbery, they make a great pair.

Meanwhile, Brad’s ex Jennifer Aniston looked gorgeous in this white and silver slinky dress. She definitely made a statement: she’s fine without Brad! Though, I do wish she did something a bit more with her hair. This is the Oscars after all! Extra Bonus: Aniston brought along beau John Mayer as her arm candy. I’m really starting to like the two of them together…

Speaking of loving the dress but not the hair, you know that Kate Winslet can do no wrong in my book. But, the hair was hideous. It made her look much older than she really is. And what happened to color, in general? Kate’s dress from the SAG Awards was amazing and I wish she’d chosen something vibrant like that. Enough with the blacks, whites and greys ladies! Regardless, Kate looked beautiful.

Finally! Some color! Natalie Portman may not have had an Oscar award-winning movie this year, but she definitely rocked the red carpet.

Penelope Cruz kept it classic, almost Audrey Hepburn-esque, with this beautiful gown. I loved her whole look. And more importantly, I loved her speech when she won Best Supporting Actress. One of my favorite moments 🙂

Funniest Moment of the night:

Ben Stiller, a la Joaquin Pheonix on Letterman, presenting with Natalie Portman. Absolutely hilarious! Maybe it will convince Joaquin that he needs to get his act together…

Most Touching Moment of the night:

Heath Ledger’s win for Best Supporting Actor and his family’s acceptance speech on behalf of the late actor.

Most Surprising Moment:

Hugh Jackman as host. I have to say, I’ve never been a huge fan of Hugh, mostly because I’m not into the whole Wolverine, action-flick type of movies. But, he knocked me on my ass with his singing, dancing and, most of all, his charm. I loved it!

So, what do you guys think of the show? The critics were saying they needed a miracle to gain back the viewership it lost last year. Was the show a success?

not wasting any time…

Aw, I suppose that’s not fair, especially since I really love these two together. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden announced this weekend that they are expecting baby #2, just a little over a year since they welcomed the cuteness that is Harlow Winter Kate. No word on when Nicole is due.

Becoming a mother has honestly been the best thing for Nicole which is something she’s even said herself in the media. I, for one, much prefer her as the low-key, healthy mama that she’s become.

Congrats to the happy couple!

P.S. Oscar recap coming soon, I promise!

just plain awful!

WARNING: Photo below is pretty disturbing.

As if there was any mystery left around Rihanna’s injuries from Chris Brown’s brutal attack, TMZ claims it has cleared it up with this one photo:

According to the celeb site, this photo – which appears to be a woman with injuries consistent with Rihanna’s listed in police reports – was leaked from the LAPD and was supposively taken shortly after the altercation between the couple. How horrible! Domestic violence is NEVER ok, even if this photo is not real. I’m still shocked everytime I see it.

Meanwhile, the LAPD has launched an internal investigation to find out how the photo was leaked to TMZ.

Leave your thoughts below.

cuteness overload!

Hey ya’ll – remember me? Sorry, it’s been a while. I’ve barely had time to catch my breathe I’ve been so busy (a good sign in this economy!) Lots to catch up on. I’m dying to see where the Chris Brown/Rihanna thing goes! Did you watch American Idol last night? I cringed most of the night – but I’m loving me some Danny Gokey!

Know what else I’m loving? Shiloh Jolie-Pitt!! Is she not the most adorable celebrity baby out there? Can’t forget about Zahara either – cutie pie for sure. And, judging by the recent pics of the twins, they are following in their big sis’ footsteps. So, take a deep breathe, and enjoy a little bit of this cuteness overload…

Just when we all thought Chris Brown and Rihanna were the next Beyonce and Jay Z hip hop “it” couple, Chris Brown goes all Ike Turner on us. I was a bit hesitant to post on this yesterday because the details still seemed a bit foggy. Was it Rihanna that Chris Brown got into the altercation with? What were her injuries? Who made the 911 call? But, this story is just getting too juicy to ignore.

Here’s what we do know: The incident happened on the way home from a pre-Grammy party honoring Clive Davis at around 12:30am (see last photo together above). It WAS Rihanna who was the victim of Chris Brown’s attack. Her injuries include swelling and bruising on both sides of her face, a cut on her lip and bite marks on her hands. Chris turned himself into police on Sunday night, posted the $50,000 bail and is due in court on March 5th. Rihanna’s camp is playing it safe and not providing any details besides the fact that she is doing fine and thanks her fans for their concern.

There has been talk that Rihanna and Chris were spotted that same morning around 7am leaving their hotel together. PLEASE tell me this is not true. If he did indeed hit Rihanna, she needs to get as far away from him as possible.

I will admit, though, that there is a tiny part of me that wonders if this was just some horsing around that went too far. It seems weird that people around them saw this happening and did nothing. I don’t know. I’m being a bit reserved on this one until more details come in.

But, I’m curious. What do you guys think of all of this?

P.S. Sorry I missed the Grammy’s recap post yesterday. Will try to post my thoughts later. For now, I’ll just say that Carrie Underwood was the best dressed by far (see photo here) and I loved Justin’s performance with Al Green (which, coincidentally was the fill-in for Chris Brown’s performance that he cancelled on last minute, obviously).

maybe this is a good thing for her?

Somewhere out there, there’s a hungry model scarfing down a donut!

Initially, I was going to avoid talking about the whole Jessica Simpson “fat” situation. Personally, I think the media is making a big deal out of nothing. Let’s be honest, the outfit was horrendous and accentuated ALL the wrong areas. And, as I’ve pointed out before, Jessica’s been looking a little rough this past year or so.

But then I read this post on Perez Hilton which highlighted the fact that Jess is on three, count ’em THREE, magazine covers this week. Hell, she’s even got President Obama talking about. And it occurred to me, maybe this whole thing isn’t so bad for the struggling singer. Press is press, right? Maybe it will help push that country CD of her’s off the shelves.

I, for one, am sick of hearing about it. How do you guys feel?
